The King: Eternal Monarch actor Kim Kyung Nam has been cast as the main character of the new KBS weekend drama Pleasant Others (literal title).

According to a media outlet, Kim Kyung Nam will play Han Ye Seul, the lead male role in the new KBS weekend drama Pleasant Others.

This upcoming weekend drama is a new project by writer Moon Young Nam, who has made numerous hit dramas for the past 30 years, such as Famous Princesses, First Wives Club, Wang’s Family, and Liver or Die. It has already been programmed as a follow-up of Homemade Love Story.

As it is a new work by a writer who has produced a number of hit dramas and a new KBS weekend drama that guarantees a 30% audience rating, the broadcasting industry is paying keen attention to the casting. And today, Kim Kyung Nam, who has steadily built up his career through several projects including Prison Playbook, Special Labor Inspector Jo, and The King: Eternal Monarch, was reported to have been cast as the main lead.

Like any other Moon Young Nam’s works, the characters’ names in the drama are all quite unique. Kim Kyung Nam will play Han Ye Seul, who came to Seoul dreaming of becoming a rocker but ended up seeing success as a trot singer. Previously, Jeon Hye Bin was confirmed to take the role of Lee Kwang Shik.
