NiziU’s Debut Song ‘Make You Happy’ Tops 64 Japanese Music Charts

NiziU, a global girl group introduced by JYP Entertainment, swept the 64 Japanese Music Charts with their pre-debut album.

At midnight on June 30 KST, NiziU released their pre-debut digital mini-album Make You Happy in Korea and Japan.

According to Sony Music, the title track “Make You Happy” topped 64 charts on various music platforms in Japan within three days of its release. It has topped various music charts, including mora, mu-mo, AWA, and Rakuten.

Then at midnight on July 1 KST, the song was released around the world and is receiving much love. As of July 1, it topped iTunes J-pop album charts in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, and ranked 23rd on Apple Music’s Top 100: Global chart, raising the possibility of their overseas success.

NiziU is a girl group born through the mega-scale global audition “Nizi Project,” in which JYP and Sony Music jointly conducted everything from member selection to training, planning, production, and management.

In particular, NiziU draws keen attention as a rookie group to succeed JYP’s girl group legacy and a key project that conclusively demonstrates JYP’s unique production capabilities.
