Highlight’s Lee Gi Kwang has sued a National Party candidate who has claimed that the artist had participated in chart manipulation.
On April 13th, Lee Gi Kwang’s agency Around Us Entertainment stated, “We have filed a complaint against National Party candidate Kim Keun Tae who has released false facts about Lee Gi Gwang being involved in illegal chart manipulation.”
According to the agency, candidate Kim had stated false facts and revealed Lee Gi Kwang’s name without confirming it with the chart manipulation company.
The agency also stated, “Things that damage the image of an artist that he has worked diligently to build should be eradicated. If we get investigated for this issue, we will submit all necessary files and cooperate.”
On April 8th, candidate Kim held a press conference and revealed the names of 10 artists who had apparently participated in illegal chart manipulation. Immediately after the press conference, Lee Gi Kwang’s agency announced that Lee Gi Kwang has never tried to participate in chart manipulation and that they will take strong legal actions if the false claims and defamation continue.
