The trio ballad group 8eight (just called “Eight” verbally) announces a first digital single since 2014. The new song will be released only online this Friday (Feb. 7th, KST), but its title is still unknown.
Big Hit Entertainment stated that Bang Si-hyuk, founder and co-CEO, participates in the work for 8eight’s upcoming track as a producer. Bang, one of the most prominent songwriter in Korea, once wrote various hit songs for 8eight including “Without A Heart”, “Goodbye My Love” and etc. Indeed, 8eight is so-called ‘the first generation of Big Hit’s Group Artists’ because Bang Si-hyuk made its debut in 2007, after leaving JYP Entertainment and establishing his own company in 2005.
All three members of 8eight (Yi-hyun, Baek-chan and Ju-hee) had Big Hit as their agency for years, but only Yi-hyun belongs to it now. This reunion seems a part of Big Hit’s huge plan to celebrate its 15th anniversary and highlight its artists’ performances. We hope 8eight sing their own beautiful music more often!
