Netflix has revealed four main posters for its upcoming suspense thriller series The Frog, starring Kim Yun Seok, Yoon Kye Sang, Go Min Si, and Lee Jung Eun. The series tells the story of a peaceful summer day disrupted by a mysterious guest, leading to a cascade of uncontrollable events.
The first set of posters features Kim Yun Seok as Yeong Ha and Yoon Kye Sang as Sang Jun, with the caption, “One Peaceful Day.” This contrasts with the second set of posters, featuring Go Min Si as Seong Ah and Lee Jung Eun as Bo Min, captioned “An Unwelcome Guest Arrived.” These paired phrases heighten the anticipation for the intricate relationships between the characters.
The contrast between Yeong Ha’s poster, set in a sunlit forest, and Seong Ah’s, set in a cold, rainy forest, immediately catches the eye. The story revolves around Yeong Ha, who runs a secluded forest guesthouse and encounters unexpected chaos after taking in the mysterious Seong Ah. Meanwhile, Sang Jun, who operates a lakeside motel, is depicted with a lost expression, hinting at the turmoil he faces after a mysterious guest arrives. Bo Min, a former ace detective now a police chief, is shown watching everything unfold through a slightly open door, suggesting her role in uncovering the mystery.
Kim Yun Seok, returning to drama after 17 years, described the series: “Their ordinary lives are completely upended when an unwelcome guest suddenly shows up. It’s a fascinating depiction of how everything changes, a rare story that hasn’t been explored much in Korea.”
Directed by Mo Wan Il of The World of the Married, The Frog premieres exclusively on Netflix on August 23rd.
