Yoo Ah In appeared in court on Tuesday for the fourth hearing of his trial on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.
The hearing, which took place at the Seoul Central District Court’s Criminal Agreement Division 25-1, was the first time that he and his acquaintances Choi and YouTuber A were cross-examined.
Yoo Ah In arrived at the courthouse on time, dressed in a gray suit with an open vest. His short hairstyle was the same as in the third hearing, but the white hair that was visible then was not seen this time.
A small number of Yoo Ah In’s fans were present in front of the courthouse holding messages of support but he did not pay attention to them. He spoke briefly to reporters, saying, “I plead not guilty to the charges” and “I didn’t do it,” denying allegations of destroying evidence.
In the courtroom where the cross-examination took place, a partition was installed between Yoo Ah In and YouTuber A. It was reported that this was at A’s request. The YouTuber had requested to be questioned without Yoo Ah In present, but the prosecution did not accept this and instead had a partition installed.
Yoo Ah In was indicted without detention last October on charges of illegally prescribing and purchasing sleeping pills in another person’s name, smoking and instructing to smoke marijuana, and destroying evidence. In the second hearing, he admitted some of the charges of marijuana and propofol use.
Meanwhile, the actor is scheduled to make his first media appearance since the controversy through Netflix series Goodbye Earth, which will be released on April 26th.
