TXT’s Huening Kai has personally addressed recent dating rumors circulating online, clarifying that the woman seen with him was “just an acquaintance.”
In the early hours of October 10th, Huening Kai took to Weverse DM to share a heartfelt message with fans, writing, “I wanted to apologize to MOA (TXT fandom), and I didn’t see a reason to avoid it, so I’ll just say it directly.”
The statement comes after a video surfaced on online communities showing Huening Kai leaving a bar with a woman and getting into a car together, sparking speculation about a possible relationship.
Huening Kai explained the situation in detail: “It was a friend I know. I couldn’t just leave her there, so I gave her a ride and went straight back to my place. It was during the holidays, so most places were closed, and we ended up at one of the few spots still open.”
He added, “Since debut, I’ve really hated the idea of causing any trouble for the members, and I’m usually a homebody. But this was an old friend I hadn’t seen in a while. When that happened, I kept thinking about what to do… but I couldn’t just walk away. I dropped her off quickly and went straight home. Still, I’m sorry for worrying everyone.”
Huening Kai also emphasized his honesty: “I don’t like lying, so I wanted to speak openly. I think the situation caused a lot of misunderstanding, but there’s truly nothing for MOA to worry about. I feel sorry if I hurt MOA, the members, or our staff.” He concluded with an emotional note: “I always said I want to be someone fans can trust, but I feel like I failed this time. Honestly, I care more about the members, MOA, and my family than myself. I’m really sorry for hurting MOA, I truly am.”
