IU, fresh off the cultural hit When Life Gives You Tangerines, is returning to music with a highly anticipated comeback.
IU’s agency, EDAM Entertainment, confirmed on May 12th that IU is preparing a new album for a May release. “Cha Eun Woo will make a cameo in the music video,” the company added.
Details about the album remain under wraps, but anticipation is sky-high. This will be her first music release in over a year, since her sixth mini-album, The Winning, dropped in February 2024. Fans are eagerly awaiting her return to the music scene.
IU and Cha Eun Woo previously collaborated on a jewelry brand campaign earlier this year. With past music video collaborations featuring stars like V, DPR IAN, and Lee Jong Won, fans are curious about the dynamic IU and Cha Eun Woo will create.
Earlier this year, IU impressed audiences with her dual roles as Ae Soon and Geum-myung in Netflix’s When Life Gives You Tangerines. She’s also set to star in MBC’s 21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife, slated for release in the first half of 2026.
