The director of the upcoming queer film Heavy Snow shared insights into actress Han So Hee‘s dedication to her role, noting that she wasn’t fazed by the movie’s LGBTQ+ themes.

On the afternoon of the 11th, a press conference and media screening for Heavy Snow were held, attended by director Yun Suik and Han Hae In. However, lead actress Han So Hee was unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts.

Heavy Snow marks the highly anticipated silver screen debut of Han So Hee, who plays Seol Yi, a teen star who forms a deep connection with aspiring actress Soo An, portrayed by Han Hae In. Not having been able to be honest with each other as teens, they eventually find their way back to each other.

Director Yun revealed that Han So Hee didn’t give much thought to the film’s queer themes. “From what I observed, Han So Hee never considered Heavy Snow being a queer film to be of any importance. We never even discussed that aspect,” he said, adding, “She was far more focused on the story’s tone and her character Seol Yi.”

She also shared that Han So Hee, despite her rising fame, approached the film with the same nerves as any of them. “She feels the same way as us, especially because it was filmed when she was still a rookie. She was anxious about how the audience would receive her performance. So I told her she really delivered a remarkable performance.”

Heavy Snow will hit the theaters on the 23rd of this month.
