A tragic incident involving a Japanese TikTok influencer living in South Korea has sparked renewed online discussion about ENHYPEN’s fandom.

Seoul’s Yongsan Police Station said a 20-year-old Japanese woman was found dead at an apartment in Yongsan-gu on the morning of August 5th. Police identified her as a social media influencer with approximately 80,000 followers and said she was found after reportedly taking her own life during a livestream. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.

Social media users on platforms including X (formerly Twitter) have identified the influencer as “Minachan,” a high-profile fan of NI-KI, the Japanese member of K-pop group ENHYPEN. Online posts claim that she frequently traveled internationally to attend concerts and fan events.

A post circulating online claims that she once gave a bouquet of flowers to ENHYPEN member SUNOO at a concert and asked him to deliver it to NI-KI. According to the post, the bouquet was later returned to her because NI-KI was interacting with other fans at the time. The post also alleges that she appeared upset afterward and was seen using her phone and taking selfies during the performance, which some fans reportedly criticized.

Online discussions also revisited comments NI-KI made during a livestream about fan behavior. He said that concert venues should be a space where everyone can enjoy themselves and that he wanted to interact with as many fans as possible. He added that it was disappointing when someone made repeated efforts to stand out. Some fans interpreted the remarks as being related to the incident described online, but there has been no confirmation that he was referring to her or the situation specifically.

The influencer later posted a detailed apology on social media. She expressed regret over feeling like she had taken advantage of SUNOO’s kindness and admitted that she had mistakenly believed she was closer to the group because of her frequent attendance at fan events. She also apologized to NI-KI and other fans, acknowledging that her actions affected the concert atmosphere, before leaving a final message for her followers.

The apology post and details about her past fan activities have since resurfaced online. Many users have speculated that the controversy may be connected to her death. Law enforcement officials, however, have not confirmed any link between the online discussions and her death. The investigation remains ongoing.
