The team behind Bonjour Bakery is sharing their love for Kim Seon Ho’s warm and approachable charm.

Writer Kim Ran Joo spoke about the actor during an interview for Coupang Play’s variety show Bonjour Bakery, held on May 27th.

“We were told he had a special warmth toward older people, and he was even more like that than we expected,” Kim said.

On Bonjour Bakery, Kim Seon Ho often strikes up friendly conversations with elderly people, warmly inviting them to stop by the bakery. He also greets them with an easy, affectionate attitude, showing a down-to-earth charm that quickly stands out.

Kim Ran Joo said he exceeded expectations. “He would always ask the lady, ‘Come on, aren’t you coming in?’ to the point where people joked they couldn’t even walk past if Seon Ho was there,” she said. “I think that’s just who he is.”

Producer Park Geun Hyung also praised the actor, saying, “I’m a fan of ‘Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha,’ and I mentioned that when we cast him. The more I met him and talked to him, the more he felt like the real-life Chief Hong.”

He added, “I don’t think there is anyone quite like Seon Ho when it comes to being friendly and making people feel comfortable.” Park also teased that the later episodes will feature many scenes of Kim Hee Ae and Kim Seon Ho talking about acting and sharing small, everyday conversations.

Bonjour Bakery is a healing baking variety show set at Korea’s first “senior dessert cafe,” which opens in a quiet rural village. The show follows elders who know the taste of life and bakery staff who know the taste of happiness as they share sweet comfort and warmth. Kim Hee Ae, Cha Seung Won, Kim Seon Ho and Lee Ki Taek star.
