BTS member V has officially addressed the unauthorized use of his private conversations as evidence in the ongoing legal war between HYBE and former ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin.
On February 20, V took to social media to clear the air after his personal messages were leaked in court filings. “These were private, everyday conversations I shared with acquaintances out of empathy,” V stated. “I have no intention of taking sides,” he added, shutting down any attempt to use his words for political leverage in the dispute.
The controversy began when Min Hee Jin’s legal team submitted KakaoTalk logs between V and herself as evidence during her lawsuit against HYBE.

The messages reportedly captured V’s reaction to the “copycat” allegations surrounding the girl group ILLIT and NewJeans. In the leaked texts, V allegedly remarked, “I saw it too and thought they looked similar…”
While the court ultimately ruled in favor of Min Hee Jin—rejecting HYBE’s claims and ordering a massive settlement of approximately 25.5 billion won ($19 million)—V is making it clear he was never a willing participant in the case.
V expressed discomfort over how his private thoughts were weaponized without his knowledge. “I am very taken aback that these conversations were submitted as evidence without my consent,” he noted.
