Hyun Bin and Jung Woo Sung’s ‘Made in Korea’ Rockets Up Global Charts, Cracking Hulu U.S. Top 10

Disney Plus original series Made in Korea is rapidly climbing global streaming charts.

As of December 26th, the series ranked No. 1 in Korea and Taiwan in Disney Plus’s TV show category, according to FlixPatrol. It also placed No. 3 in Japan and Hong Kong, No. 6 in Singapore, and made a surprise debut at No. 9 on Hulu’s U.S. Top 10, securing No. 3 overall on the global chart.

Set in 1970s South Korea, the high-stakes drama follows ambitious corporate insider Baek Gi Tae (Hyun Bin), who seeks wealth and power by turning the nation itself into a business. Standing opposite him is relentless prosecutor Jang Geon Young (Jung Woo Sung), whose obsession drives him to pursue the truth at any cost. Their clash unfolds against a backdrop of sweeping, era-defining events.

The series’ strong storytelling and commanding performances have fueled its global momentum. Korean viewers call it “exceeding expectations in every way—direction, acting, and writing,” while others praise it as “a fast-moving ride through a turbulent era packed with powerhouse performances.”

International audiences echo the sentiment, with reviews highlighting the duo’s chemistry and Hyun Bin’s “restrained yet explosive” portrayal.

With acclaim pouring in for its direction, writing, and production values, Made in Korea is shaping up to be one of the standout Korean series closing out 2025.

The first two episodes are now streaming exclusively on Disney Plus. Two more episodes drop on December 31st, followed by one episode each on January 7th and January 14th, for a total of six episodes.
