Hyeri looked back on a moment of unexpected nostalgia after reuniting with Park Bo Gum—this time over an early-morning run—saying it made her feel like she had returned to her Reply 1988 days.

The actress attended the 10th Anniversary Asia Artist Awards 2025 (AAA 2025) on December 6th at Kaohsiung National Stadium, where she won the AAA Best Actress award. Park Bo Gum, her co-star from the beloved tvN drama Reply 1988, was also present, giving fans a rare and heartwarming reunion.

Backstage, Hyeri greeted reporters with her trademark cheer. “I’m so happy and grateful to be invited to so many award shows this year and to receive awards,” she said. “This is my first time at AAA—why did it take so long to invite me?” she added with a laugh. She described the ceremony as “a true year-end festival,” noting that seeing so many artists and fans in one place made the night even more special.

Asked about standout artists, Hyeri said she naturally paid more attention to those she’s close to, naming Chaewon of LE SSERAFIM and Yena. She also revealed that she met Park Bo Gum earlier that morning. “I actually went running with Bo Gum,” she said. “I never work out, but he told me I had to if I wanted to look good today—so I got dragged along.” Laughing, she added, “I think my face got even puffier, but it was fun. We made a great memory.”

Hyeri also touched on how she chooses projects, explaining that she looks for stories and characters that genuinely resonate with her, adding that her role she’s filming now is especially appealing and worth anticipating.

With both AAA and Reply 1988 marking their 10th anniversaries this year, Hyeri reflected on reuniting with the cast for an upcoming special. “It didn’t feel like 10 years at all—it felt like yesterday,” she said. “We shot for 2 days and 1 night, and by the end, we didn’t want to go home. It really felt like time travel, like I was Deok Sun again.”

Wrapping up, Hyeri shared her gratitude for fans, noting that 2025 marked her first fan meeting and official fan club launch. “It made this year incredibly meaningful,” she said. “I’m filming right now and have a movie already finished, so I’ll work even harder next year.”

Hyeri will next star in the Genie TV original drama Dream to You (literal title), airing next year, as Joo Yi Jae, a reporter living day to day after setting her dreams aside.
