Netflix has confirmed a January 16th premiere for its upcoming romance series Can This Love Be Translated?, releasing a brand-new poster that spotlights stars Kim Seon Ho and Go Youn Jung.

Set to kick off 2026 with a dose of excitement and heart-fluttering chemistry, the series follows multilingual interpreter Joo Ho Jin (played by Kim Seon Ho), who unexpectedly becomes the interpreter for global top star Cha Moo Hee (Go Youn Jung). What begins as a professional partnership quickly unravels into an unpredictable, globe-spanning romantic comedy.

The project comes from the famed Hong Sisters, the writers behind hits like Alchemy of Souls, Hotel Del Luna, and Master’s Sun, paired with director Yoo Young Eun, celebrated for the striking visuals and emotional detail of Bloody Heart. Even before release, anticipation has been sky-high.

Filmed across Japan, Canada, Italy, and more, the series promises lush scenery and an international flair. Kim Seon Ho—beloved for Netflix’s When Life Gives You Tangerines and tvN’s Start-Up—joins Go Youn Jung, who showcased her range in Alchemy of Souls 2 and Resident Playbook.

The newly unveiled poster shows Joo Ho Jin and Cha Moo Hee standing back-to-back, each wearing earphones—a nod to their quirky interpreter-and-superstar dynamic. The faintly blurred word “love” written in multiple languages hints at the unique, cross-cultural romance awaiting viewers.

Can This Love Be Translated? premieres January 16th, exclusively on Netflix.
