Song Joong Ki isn’t slowing down—the actor has chosen his next project only two months after wrapping JTBC’s My Youth.
According to industry sources on December 8th, Song Joong Ki has received the script for the new drama Love Cloud (working title) and is reviewing it positively.
Love Cloud is a romantic comedy about Kang Woo Ju, a former flight instructor, and Ahn Ha Ni, a former pilot-in-training, who reunite seven years later in the mystical landscapes of Jeju—a place where even love changes like the weather. Now working as an air traffic controller and a pilot, the two cross paths again in unexpected ways. The series will be directed by Song Min Yeob of KBS’s Youth of May and High Cookie, with rookie writer team Mad Rabbit penning the script.
Song Joong Ki is set to star as Kang Woo Ju, the male lead—a former flight instructor turned air traffic controller. This marks his first time playing a character in aviation. With his last drama ending in October, his fast turnaround to a new project is drawing significant attention.
Producers are also extending offers to a well-known actress active in both film and television to play the female lead, and casting for supporting roles is currently underway ahead of filming next year.
Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki married British actress Katy Louise Saunders in 2023 and welcomed two children—a son and a daughter—becoming a proud father of two.
