Yoo Ah In, who is currently on hiatus after receiving a suspended sentence for drug use, has been spotted at a club in Shanghai—and photos of the moment are rapidly circulating across social media.
Recently, posts claiming to have seen Yoo Ah In began popping up on various platforms. The photos show him inside a club, laughing and chatting with several men. One image in particular drew attention: Yoo standing close to a group of shirtless men, appearing relaxed and friendly.
This isn’t his first public sighting since his legal issues. Back in September, seven months after his release, Yoo was photographed at a bar in Seoul’s Hannam neighborhood, spending time with director Bong Joon Ho and DJ Peggy Gou—a moment that quickly made headlines.
Yoo Ah In was released this February. On July 3rd, the Supreme Court upheld a ruling of one year in prison with two years of probation and a fine of 2 million KRW (approximately 1,360 USD) for violations of the Narcotics Control Act.
Prosecutors accused him of administering propofol 181 times between 2020 and 2022, illegally obtaining 44 prescriptions for sleeping medication under another person’s name between 2021 and 2022, and pressuring an acquaintance to smoke marijuana with him in Los Angeles in 2023 after his own usage was filmed by a YouTuber friend.
Last September, his first trial handed him a one-year prison sentence and immediate detention. His second trial overturned that ruling, granting him one year in prison with a two-year suspended sentence and a fine of 2 million KRW. The third trial upheld the decision, and the actor—who had been held at Seoul Detention Center—was released after five months based on the appellate ruling.
