One of 2026’s most anticipated films, Project Y, has confirmed its January 21st theatrical release and unveiled a set of seven striking character posters.

The film follows Mi Seon and Do Kyung whose lives spiral into danger when they decide to steal black money and gold bars while standing at the edge of their lives. Project Y stars Han So Hee, Jeon Jong Seo, Kim Shin Rock, Jung Young Ju, Lee Jae Kyoon, YooA, and Kim Sung Cheol.

Stylishly crafted and billed as a “crime entertainment movie,” the film made its world premiere in the Special Presentation section at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival, followed by an official invite to the 30th Busan International Film Festival and a Best Picture win at the 10th London Asian Film Festival, drawing global attention across the festival circuit.

The newly released posters spotlight seven characters, each paired with a line that captures their essence.

Han So Hee‘s Mi Seon, clad in a bold faux fur jacket and running headlong through the city, warns, “If this goes wrong, we could die.” Jeon Jong Seo‘s Do Kyung stands in the cold night with a fierce stare, saying, “If you’re going, you go big. That’s life.”

Kim Shin Rock’s Ga Young appears with piercing eyes alongside the line, “Looks like you stirred up something big.” Jung Young Ju exudes charisma as Hwang So, declaring the threatening, “Hold on for your dear life.” Lee Jae Kyoon’s Seok Gu shows his rough-edged attitude with, “Know your place and act like it.”

YooA’s Ha Kyung adds mystery with the chilling, “Get it together. I’m your master.” And finally, Kim Sung Cheol’s Tosa Jang delivers a cold, commanding presence with the succinct but powerful line: “This needs to end now.”

Together, the seven posters hint at dangerous alliances, sharp tensions, and the breakneck story to come.

Project Y opens in theaters on January 21st.
