Netflix has released the main trailer for The Great Flood, spotlighting the fierce fight for survival as the world is swallowed whole by an unstoppable disaster.
The Great Flood is a sci-fi disaster blockbuster set on the final day of a world devastated by a massive flood. With humanity’s last hope on the line, the story follows those trapped in a drowning apartment building as they fight to stay alive.
The trailer opens with a chilling setup: a catastrophic flood triggered by an asteroid strike. “The human race as we know it will end today,” says Hee Jo (played by Park Hae Soo) of the Human Security Team, as AI researcher Anna (Kim Da Mi) learns she has been given a mission tied to creating a new humanity.
Moments later, a colossal wave hits without warning, engulfing the city in seconds. The apartment complex where Anna lives with her young son, Jain (Kwon Eun Sung), collapses into chaos.
Amid the unprecedented disaster, Anna desperately battles to protect her only child, but things worsen when she becomes separated from him. “I want to find him, please,” she cries, tearing through the flooded building in search of him. Meanwhile, Hee Jo, whose mission is to rescue Anna, blocks her path, setting up a tense conflict between the two.
A mysterious golden particle drifting across the flood—mirroring the shape of the waves—raises even more questions about the story that The Great Flood is preparing to unfold. With Anna and Jain suddenly becoming humanity’s final hope, their journey for survival promises nonstop tension and emotional pull.
Adding to the suspense, Hee Jo’s ominous line—“I want to see it. What you do in the end”—hints that she will face an impossible choice. Shots of Anna swimming alone through a vast, dark ocean intensify curiosity about the film’s final outcome.
The Great Flood premieres December 19th, exclusively on Netflix.
