Netflix is raising the heat with Culinary Class Wars 2, officially revealing its full lineup of 100 black-and-white chefs ready to battle purely with flavor.
The series follows two groups: the “black spoon” underdog chefs, determined to flip the hierarchy using nothing but taste, and the “white spoon” star chefs, a lineup of Korea’s top culinary masters fighting to defend their ranks. This season introduces 80 black-spoon chefs, 18 white-spoon chefs, and 2 mysterious hidden white-spoon chefs, heightening anticipation.
A video released through Netflix Korea’s official account showcased the star-studded roster. First up: 18 powerhouse white chefs making a commanding entrance. The lineup includes Lee Jun, pioneer of Korean fine dining and Michelin 2-star chef; Son Jong Won, who holds Michelin 1 star in both Korean and Western cuisine; Ven. Seonjae, Korea’s first master of temple food; Hu Deok Jook, a 57-year veteran of Chinese cuisine; Park Hyo Nam, a 47-year French cuisine master; and famed Japanese cuisine chef Jung Ho Young.
Also joining are beloved Italian chef Sam Kim, Canada-born star chef Raymond Kim, Master Chef Korea Season 4 judge Song Hoon, and Korean Food War Season 3 winner Lim Seong Geun—all aiming to dominate purely with taste.
Additional standout white-spoon chefs include Michelin-starred Kim Hee Eun, former Blue House executive chef Cheon Sang Hyun, Michelin 1-star chef Choi Yu Kang, Master Chef Sweden winner Jennie Walldén, NYC Michelin 1-star chef Sim Seong Cheol, Korea’s first female executive chef at a five-star hotel Lee Geum Hee, local-food dining expert Kim Sung Woon, and Michelin 1-star chef Kim Geon.
Attention is also building around the two hidden white-spoon chefs, whose identities remain masked, along with the 80 black-spoon challengers ready to take them on. Their nicknames alone set the tone: kitchen boss, wok rider, culinary scientist, three-star killer, and barbecue lab director. Both white and black chefs return stronger than Season 1, promising an even more intense culinary class showdown.
Directors Kim Hak Min and Kim Eun Ji shared their gratitude: “So many chefs resonated with the concept of ‘Culinary Class Wars’ and chose to join us. We tried to build a stage where they could truly go all out and enjoy the challenge.”
Culinary Class Wars 2 premieres December 16th, exclusively on Netflix for viewers worldwide.
