Park Min Young and Yook Sung Jae are set to headline a new romance drama, marking their first on-screen pairing.
According to reports on Tuesday, the two stars will lead SBS’s upcoming series Nine to Six, a mellow, emotionally grounded love story centered on work, relationships, and personal growth.
Nine to Six follows a career-driven woman who has long pushed romance to the sidelines, only to find her outlook on both love and life shifting after meeting a gentle, emotionally intuitive man. The series is based on the 2021 Chinese drama The Rational Life, starring Qin Lan and Dylan Wang.
Park Min Young stars as Kang Yi Ji, the no-nonsense head of the legal team at an automobile company. A devoted workaholic, Yi Ji doesn’t reject marriage outright but views romance and marriage as nothing more than chemical reactions. Practical and composed, she believes quiet persistence beats reckless rebellion when facing unfairness.
Yook Sung Jae plays Han Sun Woo, a law school graduate who pivots into a career as a jewelry designer. Calm, thoughtful, and mature beyond his years, Sun Woo excels at anything hands-on—from cooking to design. He’s the kind of understated, emotionally secure partner modern women dream of, someone who leads with action rather than overthinking—especially when it comes to Yi Ji.
This marks the first drama collaboration between Park Min Young and Yook Sung Jae. Park Min Young is already well known for her strong chemistry with younger co-stars, having delivered memorable romances opposite Park Seo Joon in What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim, Seo Kang Joon in When the Weather Is Fine, and Song Kang in Forecasting Love and Weather.
Nine to Six is produced by Samhwa Networks and directed by Lee Hyung Min, known for Strong Woman Bong-soon, The Miracle We Met, and Miss Night and Day. The series is slated to air on SBS.
