Park Hae Jin is officially returning to the small screen as the new male lead of SBS’s Good Partner Season 2.
Industry sources confirmed on December 2nd that Park has been cast as the central character in the upcoming season, written by Choi Yoon Ah and directed by Kim Ga Ram.
Good Partner is a legal drama centered on the everyday lives of divorce attorneys. Season 1, which aired from July to September last year, became a major hit, peaking at 17.7% nationwide ratings (Nielsen Korea) and earning strong viewer buzz—leading to the swift greenlight for Season 2.
Season 1 starred Jang Na Ra as star divorce lawyer Cha Eun Kyung and Nam Ji Hyun as passionate rookie attorney Han Yu Ri. Jang Na Ra will return for Season 2, while Nam Ji Hyun and Kim Jun Han have exited the series. Pyo Ji Hoon (P.O) will join the cast, and Lovely Runner star Kim Hye Yoon has been confirmed to step into the role left vacant by Nam Ji Hyun, heightening anticipation.
With such notable lineup changes, the biggest question for Season 2 had been the identity of its new male lead. The casting of Park Hae Jin signals a stronger, more balanced dynamic for the upcoming storyline.
Park’s last drama was The Killing Vote, after which he took nearly two years away from acting, sharing glimpses of his life through his personal channel—often focusing on fitness and self-care. His return in Good Partner 2 marks a high-profile comeback, and fans are eager to see what new side of him he’ll bring to the hit series.
