Lee Min Jung is sharing the story behind husband Lee Byung Hun’s unforgettable proposal.
Appearing on the January 5th episode of the YouTube talk show “Zzanbro” alongside Yoo Ji Tae, Lee said she sensed something was up when Lee Byung Hun invited her to what he claimed was a screening for a film called Red. “Even before he left, he was acting all weird,” she said. “He then told me not to leave my seat when the movie ended—so I knew something was coming.”
Sure enough, once the credits rolled, a surprise video prepared by Lee Byung Hun played on the screen. Moments later, the lights went out—and he appeared in person to propose. “Almost everyone cried,” Lee recalled. “My mom cried, and even though I knew what was coming, I cried too. Even with the spoiler, the emotion still hit hard.”
The actress also showed a more relatable side on JTBC’s Please Take Care of My Refrigerator 2, where she opened up about a minor—but memorable—newlywed disagreement. According to Lee, she once burst into tears after Lee Byung Hun finished his entire bowl of rice before she’d taken a single bite. “It hurt my feelings,” she admitted, laughing.
She chalked it up to habit. “He’s been acting for over 30 years, so he eats fast,” she said. “Now he takes about ten minutes, and I’ve sped up a little too. We’ve met halfway,” giving a big laugh.
