Kim Min Ha is looking back fondly on her onscreen chemistry with Junho in the recently wrapped tvN weekend drama Typhoon Family.
The series, which ended on November 30th, follows a rookie businessman who suddenly becomes the head of a struggling trading company during the 1997 IMF crisis.
Speaking about working with Junho, Kim Min Ha didn’t hold back her gratitude. She said she leaned on him a lot, calling him a trusted senior with two decades of industry experience. “He gave me so much advice and support. He’s the kind of person who really takes care of people in such a detailed, thoughtful way,” he shared. “Because of that, acting with him felt so comfortable. He told me to try whatever I wanted, and he accepted everything, which I think made the scenes feel even more natural.”
As for their romance? Kim Min Ha said it was just as effortless. “It was really great,” she said. “We filmed the kiss scene after we had already become close—eight months in. At first I wondered if it would feel awkward, but it didn’t last long. It felt so easy. We cared for each other so deeply as colleagues that nothing felt forced. We filmed with genuine love for each other.”
She added that some of her favorite memories came from their beach scenes. “The ocean scene was one of my favorites. Running around together in Busan was so much fun. We just said, ‘Let’s run,’ and took off. Junho and I would talk a lot on set about how we couldn’t remember the last time we laughed that freely. We were cracking up nonstop—especially during the seaweed-pulling scene. We were genuinely dying laughing.”
Kim Min Ha also loved the quieter, everyday moments. “I really liked the scene where Typhoon gives her the phone and the Pepero. And personally, the scenes where we ate, talked, and joked around at home were some of my favorites,” she said.
