Kim Soo Hyun‘s side has once again refuted the claims made by the late Kim Sae Ron’s bereaved family.
Attorney Go stated, “I have seen the ‘evidence’ that attorney Boo Ji Seok (the family’s legal representative) claimed existed but had not been revealed by the Garosero Research Institute. It is a piece of writing that the deceased allegedly wrote by herself around September 2017. The recipient is not identified, and the family is not even claiming that the deceased sent it to anyone at that time.” He continued, “After checking with Kim Soo Hyun, he confirmed that it is impossible for her to have written such a thing to him at that point in time.”
Attorney Go had previously reported that the family’s lawyer was requesting an interview with a major TV program, claiming to have new material. Kim Soo Hyun’s side is now taking action to refute this before it can be publicly aired.
Attorney Go further explained, “As I recall, the writing was to the effect of, ‘If you give me a clear answer, I can meet you again and wait.’ They are asserting that this implies ‘waiting for someone about to enlist in the military,’ and therefore, it must be ‘a letter written to actor Kim Soo Hyun.'” He refuted this claim, stating, “The word ‘military’ does not even appear in the text. But even if it did refer to military enlistment, it could be anyone, including a soldier already serving or someone awaiting discharge at that time.”
He then added, “This may be disrespectful to the deceased, but based on what the company and her former manager understand of her dating patterns, she was not the type of person to wait two years for a boyfriend in the military.” He further noted, “According to materials submitted to the police, none of the 25 to 30 men the deceased is known to have met during her life were soldiers. At no point did any of her relationships last steadily for more than a year. Many were short-term, lasting just 3-4 months.”
Furthermore, “The writing allegedly left by the deceased has no evidentiary value to support non-existent claims. We are aware that the police are not paying it any mind. We didn’t even request metadata because the content itself is irrelevant. If any post-mortem manipulation is confirmed by the police, that in itself would be grounds for arrest.”
Attorney Go stated, “I have heard that attorney Boo Ji Seok is not releasing this material himself but is demanding that a major broadcaster air it. I see this as an attempt to reignite unnecessary controversy while avoiding the additional legal risk of spreading false information by passing that risk onto the media outlet.”
He reiterated his claim that the additional evidence the bereaved family claims to have does not exist or is unrelated to Kim Soo Hyun, stating, “The so-called thousands of photos do not exist. They simply cannot.”
The late Kim Sae Ron’s family, through the Garosero Institute, has claimed that she and Kim Soo Hyun dated from late 2015 to July 2021, which would mean the relationship occurred while she was a minor. However, Kim Soo Hyun’s side has refuted this claim, stating that their relationship began in the summer of 2019 and ended in the fall of 2020, after she had become an adult.
