DJ Koo’s visibly frail appearance has sparked concern among fans.
On October 28th, Taiwanese outlet CTWANT reported that Koo attended a private celebration for his sister-in-law Dee Hsu, who recently received an award at the 60th Golden Bell Awards. Photos from the event showed Koo spending time warmly with his mother-in-law, but noticeably thinner than his once-muscular self.
Dee Hsu—sister of Koo’s late wife Barbie Hsu—was honored with the Best Host in Variety Show for Dee Girl’s Talk on October 17th. The following day, she held a small, private family dinner in Taipei to celebrate.
Reports indicate that since his wife’s passing, Koo has barely been eating and has lost more than 14 kilograms (about 30 pounds). He was recently seen painting a portrait of his late wife at her gravesite, and is said to be working with a designer friend to create a memorial statue in her likeness.
Koo’s emotional devotion continues to move fans, many of whom have expressed both admiration and worry for the artist’s well-being.
