The woman who previously accused actor Lee Yi Kyung of misconduct has denied rumors that her recent retraction was the result of a settlement or pressure from his agency.
On October 23rd, the woman—identified only as A—reactivated her X (formerly Twitter) account and posted, “I didn’t take any money, and I wasn’t threatened. That’s all I’ll say. Thank you for understanding.” Her post appeared to address speculation that her earlier apology might have been influenced by a financial agreement with Lee’s management company.
When one online user commented, “You probably can’t admit you took the money,” A directly replied, “I didn’t take any.”
Earlier on October 20th, A had uploaded a blog post that included alleged KakaoTalk and Instagram messages between her and someone she claimed was the actor. The messages contained requests for explicit photos, profanity, and sexually suggestive remarks, sparking widespread controversy online.
In response, Lee Yi Kyung’s agency, Sangyoung ENT, stated that A had previously sent threatening emails about five months ago and allegedly demanded money by “splicing together” fabricated messages. The company announced plans to pursue legal action.
As the scandal escalated, A issued an apology the following day, saying, “It started as a joke. I never imagined it would get so much attention. While using AI photos and writing those posts, I started believing it myself,” adding, “I’m deeply sorry for spreading false rumors. It began as a prank, but I feel guilty that it went this far.”
