Song Joong Ki, Byeon Woo Seok and Ahn Hyo Seop are officially joining the lineup of presenters for the 40th Golden Disc Awards, set to take place on January 10th, 2026, at the Taipei Dome in Taiwan.
Organizers HLL confirmed the news on Monday, saying the trio of global Korean stars will take the stage to present at the milestone event, creating what they call “a stage that captures the global power of Korean content.”
Song Joong Ki, who recently captivated viewers worldwide with the JTBC drama My Youth, has been a leading force in K-content’s international rise. The actor, who last appeared as a presenter at the 37th Golden Disc Awards in Bangkok in 2023, expressed then that he could “truly feel K-pop’s strength.” His return to the stage three years later carries added significance for fans around the world.
Byeon Woo Seok, meanwhile, has strong ties with the K-pop world. His song “Sudden Shower” from the 2024 breakout hit drama Lovely Runner surpassed 100 million streams, and his live renditions of the song on various domestic and international stages received high praise. Despite a packed schedule filming MBC’s The 21st Century Grand Prince’s Wife (literal title) and Netflix’s Solo Leveling, the actor accepted the invitation to join the ceremony.
Ahn Hyo Seop, leader of the fictional global boy group “Saja Boys,” will also step onto the Golden Disc stage for the first time in four years. The actor recently made headlines as one of the stars behind the hit animated film KPop Demon Hunters, which became Netflix’s first Korean-produced animation to exceed 300 million cumulative views. Ahn is also gearing up for his next romantic comedy, Sold Out Again Today.
Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the Golden Disc Awards 2026 promises an especially grand production, taking place in Taiwan’s largest indoor venue, the Taipei Dome.
