Disney Plus’ first original Korean historical drama, The Murky Stream, officially wrapped last Friday with an emotional finale that left fans around the world deeply moved. Following the series’ conclusion, the cast—Rowoon, Shin Ye Eun and Park Seo Ham—shared heartfelt messages of gratitude.
Set in Joseon’s bustling port of Gyeonggang, where all the nation’s wealth and trade flow, The Murky Stream tells the story of those struggling to overturn a corrupt world in pursuit of a better life.
Rowoon, who portrayed Jang Si Yul—a man who enters the world of outlaws with the dream of changing society—expressed his affection for both the project and its fans: “Every single moment I spent with ‘The Murky Stream’ was truly happy and meaningful. Thank you for watching, and I hope you’ll remember Si Yul for a long time.”
Shin Ye Eun, whose character Choi Eun underwent the most profound transformation in the finale, offered her own empowering farewell: “Thank you so much for loving both ‘The Murky Stream’ and my character, Choi Eun. I’ll never forget the precious time we shared, and I’ll work hard to return with an even better version of myself.”
Meanwhile, Park Seo Ham, who brought integrity and gravitas to Jeong Cheon, shared, “Thank you sincerely to everyone who watched and loved ‘The Murky Stream.’ To all those who stood by me and helped me complete this journey whenever things got tough—I’m truly grateful.”
