Zo In Sung has seen a massive return on a real estate investment he made 13 years ago, with the value of his building in Seoul’s popular Itaewon neighborhood more than doubling.
He purchased the property in 2012 for 3.05 billion won ($2.2 million), and its current market value is estimated to be over 7.3 billion won ($5.4 million).
The four-story building, which sits on a roughly 3,000-square-foot plot of land, was extensively renovated by the actor after he purchased it. Currently, his younger sibling runs a popular cafe on the first floor, while the upper floors are leased out as office space.
According to property records, Jo In Sung likely took out a loan of around 1 billion won ($740,000) to finance the purchase. This suggests he paid the remaining 2 billion won ($1.5 million USD) in cash at the time.
A beloved star in Korea, Jo In Sung has been a household name for decades, known for his roles in classic dramas like Love In Bali and That Winter, The Wind Blows. He recently starred in the global hit Disney Plus series Moving and is set to make his big-screen comeback in director Ryu Seung Wan’s new spy film, HUMINT.
