Son Ye Jin has abruptly deleted her second Instagram account following backlash over Lee Byung Hun’s recent comment.
While the actress still maintains her main account, @yejinhand, she also ran a more personal sub-account, @yejinfoot_offcial, where she shared glimpses of her daily life. Fans often referred to it as the place to see “Mom Son Ye Jin,” with posts featuring homemade meals for her son and other candid moments.
The account was suddenly deleted today, surprising fans—especially since she had posted a photo of her son’s breakfast just four days ago.
The move comes in the wake of a controversy that arose after a press conference for her new film No Other Choice. During the event, co-star Lee Byung Hun jokingly recalled how Son Ye Jin would sometimes ignore questions from their child co-star on set. Son Ye Jin laughed and explained she had simply been immersed in her character’s emotions at the time.
Although the exchange was lighthearted, edited clips of the moment went viral on social media and YouTube, reframed as “proof” of her being “cold,” which fueled a wave of malicious comments.
The situation escalated to the point where the mother of the child actress, Choi So Yul, publicly defended Son Ye Jin. “It was merely a playful story, and Son Ye Jin was always kind,” she wrote on social media, even sharing how the actress had once given her daughter a thoughtful gift.
Despite the clarification, negative comments continued. Now, fans and media outlets are speculating that the pressure from ongoing online harassment may have pushed Son Ye Jin to delete her personal account.
