Japanese model Harin, whose dream of debuting with NewJeans was cut short just four months before launch, has now been confirmed through official documents to have signed a trainee contract with ADOR.
For months, criticisms have been building against Harin, accusing her of fabricating her story and claiming she had only been a Source Music trainee, not part of the NewJeans debut lineup. However, newly revealed documents confirm that Harin was under a formal contract with ADOR.
On August 19th, entertainment YouTuber Lee Jin Ho released Harin’s trainee contract with ADOR on his channel. According to the video, Harin signed with ADOR on January 7th, 2022. The document includes signatures from Harin herself, her parents, and then-ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin. The contract was supposed to run until January 6th, 2023, but Harin was notified of termination just two months after signing.
Born in 2003, Harin had passed a HYBE subsidiary Source Music audition in 2020 and began her trainee life there. She later transferred to ADOR, joined the NewJeans debut lineup, but was cut from the team shortly before debut.
In July, Harin appeared on Japanese actor Mitsuhiro Takeda’s YouTube channel, where she shared, “I was suddenly informed of contract termination by the company, and I had to immediately return to Japan.” She explained that although her debut with NewJeans had already been confirmed, her contract was suddenly canceled without explanation, her devices were confiscated, and her dorm access was cut off—forcing her to return to Japan.
In the aftermath, she shut down her YouTube channel and has been taking time off back home.
Lee Jin Ho emphasized, “The only thing Harin wanted to clarify was that she was truly an ADOR trainee. Seriously, who benefited from the harsh criticism she faced? At the very least, she deserves basic respect.”
