Seo In Guk and Park Ji Hyun are set to bring office romance to prime time in tvN’s upcoming drama Back to Work! (literal title).
The network confirmed the casting news today, announcing the two stars will headline the new series. The series follows Ji Yoon, a seventh-year corporate veteran stuck in a serious case of job burnout, who tries to avoid the absolute worst by settling for the “second-worst”—her impossibly picky boss, Si Woo—only for the two to become each other’s “best.”
Based on the hit romance webtoon of the same name, which has racked up over 200 million views, the series combines the realism of workplace life with heart-fluttering romance.
Seo takes on the role of Kang Si Woo, Ji Yoon’s supervisor. Kang boasts leading-man looks, a god-like physique, and the discipline of a self-care textbook—but he’s also cold and brutally straightforward. His life takes an unexpected turn when he gets entangled with his seasoned subordinate, Cha Ji Yoon. Seo’s credits include Reply 1997, High School King of Savvy, The Smile Has Left Your Eyes, Doom at Your Service, and the TVING series Death’s Game, where his performance earned critical praise.
Park plays Cha Ji Yoon, a worn-down veteran of both corporate life and romance. Gifted with quick hands and sharp instincts, she’s trusted by colleagues and always gets the job done, yet she’s battling burnout in love and work alike. Her already-stale routine gets a shake-up with the arrival of her exacting new boss, Kang Si Woo. Park has showcased her range across romance, action, and thrillers in dramas like Do You Like Brahms?, Yumi’s Cells, Reborn Rich, and Flex x Cop.
Back to Work! is slated to premiere next year on tvN.
