The series stars Lee Dong Wook as Park Seok Cheol, the unexpectedly romantic eldest son of a powerful gangster family, and Lee Sung Kyung as Kang Mi Young, his first love who dreams of becoming a singer.

With its richly emotional storytelling and powerhouse performances, international viewers have praised the drama’s retro tone—comparing it to the golden age of K-dramas from 2016 to 2018—as well as the undeniable chemistry between the leads. Comments include, “It feels like classic K-drama in the best way,” and “Lee Dong Wook and Lee Sung Kyung are magnetic together.”

Directed by Song Hae Sung (Failan, Maundy Thursday) and Park Hong Soo (Lost), and written by veteran screenwriters Kim Woon Kyung (Steal Heart, A Bluebird Has It) and Kim Hyo Seok (YADANG: The Snitch), The Nice Guy skillfully weaves together a family story, a love triangle, and a layer of mystery that keeps viewers hooked each week.

Adding to its appeal is the pedigree of its production house, Hive Media Corp, making its drama debut after producing hits like The Man Standing Next, Deliver Us From Evil, and Inside Men.

The Nice Guy airs two back-to-back episodes every Friday at 8:50 PM KST on JTBC, and is available globally via Disney Plus.
