Netflix has set August 29th as the release date for Love Untangled, a nostalgic teen romance set in 1998, and just dropped its teaser poster and trailer.
Starring Gong Myung, Shin Eun Soo, Cha Woo Min, and Yoon Sang Hyun, Love Untangled follows 19-year-old Park Se Ri (Shin Eun Soo), who’s on a mission to confess her feelings to her longtime crush. But before she can make her big move, she’s determined to fix her lifelong insecurity—her unruly curls. Things get even messier when a mysterious new transfer student, Han Yoon Seok (Gong Myung), enters the picture.
Directed by Namkoong Sun (Time to Be Strong, Ten Months), the film promises a warm, offbeat take on first love, friendship, and the chaos of youth.
The teaser poster shows Se Ri mid-battle with her voluminous curls, hiding playful objects like paper cranes and origami in her hair. The line “Once I straighten this hair, I’m making my move!” perfectly captures the film’s mix of sweetness and teen-level stakes.

The trailer kicks off with Se Ri’s voiceover—“My hair started curling, and my life got tangled right along with it.” She enlists help from her friends—and Yoon Seok, the new guy from Seoul—in an all-out mission to confess her feelings to school heartthrob Kim Hyun (Cha Woo Min).
Though he’s dragged into her grand plan by accident, Yoon Seok forms an unexpected bond with Se Ri, sparking hints of a different kind of romance just under the surface. The tag “19-year-old Se Ri’s twisty-turny, heart-pounding confession mission” echoes the universal jitters of a first crush.
Love Untangled debuts August 29th, only on Netflix.
