Kim Yoo Jung is ready to rise—and fall—in the upcoming TVING original series Dear X.
Dear X tells the story of Baek Ah Jin (Kim Yoo Jung), a woman who hides behind a flawless mask as she claws her way from hell to the highest echelons of fame. Her story intertwines with Yoon Joon Seo (Kim Young Dae), a man who loves her so deeply he’s willing to walk through fire, and Kim Jae Oh (Kim Do Hoon), a loyal aide whose devotion borders on obsession.
The newly released highlight opens with a haunting look at Baek Ah Jin’s double life—a top star with the face of an angel and the soul of a devil. Haunted by childhood trauma and parental abuse, Ah Jin grows up numb to emotion. The only person who refuses to give up on her is Yoon Joon Seo, who vows to be her salvation. “How far would you go for me?” she challenges him. “As far as you want,” he replies, his voice filled with devotion.
Meanwhile, Kim Jae Oh protects Ah Jin in his own way. Once a man without purpose, he finds meaning in her words, “You’re useful.” When she asks, “Can you do me a favor?” he responds without hesitation, “Anything. Use me however you want. You’re everything to me.”
If Yoon Joon Seo and Kim Jae Oh stand as her protectors, Rena (Lee Yul Eum) emerges as her perfect opposite. The rivalry between the two top stars burns with ambition and envy—both women mirror each other’s hunger for power.
“I’ll climb to the very top where no one can touch me,” Ah Jin declares. “I want to be reborn at the very peak.” But her ascent soon turns reckless, her ambition morphing into chaos. As Yoon Joon Seo struggles to stop her self-destruction, Ah Jin delivers a chilling final line: “Watch closely as I trample my way to the top.” Her cold smile leaves an unmistakable tension hanging in the air.
The TVING original Dear X premieres on November 6th at 6 PM KST, releasing episodes 1–4 simultaneously, followed by two new episodes every Thursday.
