Ha Jung Woo and Son Suk Ku are joining forces for Director Yoon Jong Bin’s new project Ordinary People (working title).
According to multiple industry sources on July 4th, both actors have received offers to lead the new series and are currently in the final stages of discussion. The project is reportedly being developed as a drama set during South Korea’s Roh Tae Woo administration in the early 1990s.
Ordinary People will be co-produced by Sanai Pictures and Moonlight Film, the production company helmed by director Yoon himself. Other plot details, including character specifics, remain under wraps, with production keeping information tightly sealed.
Ha Jung Woo has a history with Director Yoon Jong Bin dating back to the director’s feature debut The Unforgiven. Since then, they’ve collaborated on multiple successful projects including Beastie Boys, Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time, Kundo: Age of the Rampant, and most recently, the Netflix series Narco-Saints, achieving box office success together.
Son Suk Ku also recently worked with Yoon in the Disney Plus crime thriller Nine Puzzles, which wrapped last month.
With Ha Jung Woo, Son Suk Ku, and director Yoon Jong Bin—three proven hitmakers—coming together, Ordinary People has been drawing strong industry buzz since its earliest development stages. Casting for supporting roles is expected to begin soon, while the streaming platform and broadcast schedule remain undetermined.
