Lee Do Hyun has locked in Grand Galaxy Hotel (literal title) as his first project following his military discharge, with Shin Sia joining him as the female lead.
The new drama marks a reunion for Lee Do Hyun with the powerhouse Hong Sisters duo and director Oh Choong Hwan, who previously collaborated on the hit series Hotel Del Luna. The Hong Sisters have built an impressive track record with beloved dramas including Master’s Sun, Hotel Del Luna, and Alchemy of Souls.
Yuehua Entertainment Korea announced on June 26th, “We’re incredibly grateful for the flood of offers Lee Do Hyun has been receiving for various projects and endorsements. After careful consideration, he’s decided on ‘Grand Galaxy Hotel’ as his comeback project. We ask for everyone’s anticipation and support after waiting so long for his return.”
Following his discharge on May 13th, Lee kicked off his return with a fan meeting, quickly followed by high-profile fashion partnerships with global brands. Now, with his drama comeback officially locked in, Lee Do Hyun is back in full swing.
The female lead role was originally offered to Go Min Si, but she ultimately stepped away from the project, resulting in a three-month delay in production. Her replacement, Shin Sia, has steadily built critical acclaim since her grand debut in The Witch: Part 2. The Other One. She also recently starred in the film The Old Woman With The Knife, and recently wrapped up her standout performance in tvN’s hit medical drama Resident Playbook.
Meanwhile, Grand Galaxy Hotel, led by Lee Do Hyun and Shin Sia, is scheduled to begin filming in the second half of 2025.
