The plot continues to thicken as previous NCT member Taeil continues to be put in the hot seat over his alleged sex crimes.

It was revealed earlier today that Taeil would start the first round of trials regarding his quasi-rape sex crimes at the Seoul Central District Court. It seems the prosecutors would not tolerate the situation as they demanded a seven-year prison term for Taeil during a court hearing that detailed his past sexual misconduct charges and sexual abuse towards a woman.

Although Taeil appealed for leniency stating he reflected on the matter, the court was simply not hearing his pleas. “I’m sorry to all the people who felt disappointed.”

Taeil, e1-years-old, was indicted without detention in March of this year with charges of sexually assaulting a drunken foreign woman in June of 2024. It was revealed that he didn’t act alone and forced himself upon a woman together with his friends surnamed Lee and Hong. After the allegations were made and brought into the spotlight, Taeil was swiftly expelled from NCT and remove from SM Entertainment in August of last year. He was then questioned by police over the sexual assault allegations and will begin a series of hearings starting from today, June 18th.

The court emphasized how unlawful and dangerous the predicament is and also demanded all three members involved in the sexual assault crime receive the same prison term. Prosecutors revealed the case to be very serious and the nature of the crime is extremely worse due to the victim being a foreign tourist. More news is to come as the sentencing hearing for Taeil, Lee and Hong is slated for July 10th.

What do you think of the charges against Taeil? Do you think the prosecution term is suitable for his awful actions? How should the Seoul Central District Court handle this situation? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
