An advertiser has filed a damages claim and requested a provisional seizure of 3 billion won ($2.2 million) against Kim Soo Hyun.

Kim Soo Hyun’s attorney confirmed on June 12 that an advertiser filed for damages and secured a provisional seizure on one of Kim Soo Hyun’s units at Galleria Foret. The attorney stated, “This legal action amounts to secondary harm at a time when it’s becoming increasingly clear that HoverLab’s allegations are false and that Kim Soo Hyun is actually the victim.”

The attorney added that the advertiser likely submitted KakaoTalk messages and audio recordings allegedly created by HoverLab to support their claim. “If the court’s judgment is swayed by tampered evidence, it reflects the severity of HoverLab’s crimes,” he said.

He went on to say, “The truth will come to light, and we’ll do everything we can to ensure HoverLab faces investigation and legal consequences they deserve.”

Kim Soo Hyun has been embroiled in a legal battle since March over claims tied to a past relationship with Kim Sae Ron during her minor years. Kim has filed defamation charges against Kim Sae Ron’s family and HoverLab CEO Kim Se Ui alongside an 11 billion won ($8 million) civil lawsuit for damages.

In a related development, the court recently granted a 4 billion won ($2.9 million) provisional seizure request from Kim Soo Hyun’s agency, Gold Medalis, against Kim Se Ui. The assets include an apartment in Seoul’s Seocho district under Kim’s name and a 50% stake in an apartment in Seoul’s Apgujeong district co-owned with his sister. The court also approved Kim’s separate request to freeze Kim Se Ui’s bank accounts on May 20th.
