Nine Puzzles stars Son Suk Ku and Kim Da Mi brought their unfiltered personalities to the May 27th episode of SBS variety show Whenever Possible.
New to the variety scene, Kim Da Mi walked onto the set and blurted, “There are so many cameras,” showing just how nervous she was. Son Suk Ku also remarked, “Feels like a press conference,” looking around in awe.
Making her first-ever TV variety appearance, Kim explained, “The reason I’ve never done variety shows before is because it feels awkward.” Still, she added with a smile, “But I did sleep well last night,” making everyone laugh.
While chatting about what they’ve been up to, Son Suk Ku shared, “I need to go on a diet. The director for my next project told me to lose a lot of weight. I agreed with him, so now my goal is to drop 10kg (about 22 pounds), but I’ve never done it before, so I’m worried.”
Yoo Yeon Seok, who has experience with dieting, chimed in, “I go with a seafood-focused diet and cut out rice altogether.” Hearing that, the food-loving Son asked with a playful pout, “Wait, not even brown rice?” making everyone burst out laughing.
Later, he went on to say, “When I’m filming, I just want to go home. I thought, ‘Have I finally lost my passion?’ Even after one scene, I already want to leave.” Kim Da Mi replied, “I wanted to go home ever since I started getting my makeup done today,” revealing her own nerves about variety shows. Son added, “I was excited until the makeup part.”
Yoo Jae Suk complimented Kim Da Mi’s lively reactions, saying, “Talking to her is really fun.” Son Suk Ku agreed, “Yeah, there’s something about her that just makes you want to talk.”
Sitting down for food, Kim shared that the two of them became close even before filming started. Son Suk Ku, who shared that his usual motto is—If we click, we click. If not, whatever—said, “We naturally got close because we were leading the story together.”
As someone who doesn’t drink, Son Suk Ku shared his post-dinner routine: “After work dinners, I have to walk (the alcohol) all off before I can sleep.”
The actor also revealed his unique sleeping habits, sharing, “I sleep eight hours a night. I’m in bed before midnight. There’s nothing better than sleeping well. If I get sleepy, I won’t even brush my teeth or take off my makeup—I’ll just go to sleep. I think good sleep is more important than worrying about my face.”
