IU has officially joined the ranks of top YouTubers, reaching 10 million subscribers on her channel and receiving the coveted Diamond Play Button.
She shared a video titled “10 Million Subscriber IU’s Diamond Button Unboxing” on her channel on May 14th. In it, she showed off the box and said, “It came with a certificate,” clearly excited.
Holding up the award, she smiled and added, “If you look at the back, it says ‘Lee Ji Geum (IU Official).’ I’m going to carry this around all the time,” sharing her joy with fans.
“This is something we achieved together,” she said. “When the subscriber count hit exactly 10 million, I went live, and I just felt really happy. I was glad I got to experience that moment.”
She added, “So many people around me congratulated me. That’s when I realized how big of a deal it really is. I felt proud.”
Looking ahead, IU said her next goal is the Ruby Play Button. YouTube gives it to channels that reach 50 million subscribers.
“I thought the Diamond Button was the last one,” she said. “But when I asked the producer, I found out there’s another one. Now that I know about the Ruby Button, I feel like I have to go for it.”
