Jeon So Min has opened up about the emotional toll of online hate that shadowed her seven-year stint on the hit variety show Running Man.

During the May 11th broadcast of TV CHOSUN’s Huh Young Man’s Food Travel, the actress joined the renowned cartoonist for a culinary adventure through Seoul’s central Yongsan district, where she made some surprisingly candid revelations.

When Huh Young Man casually mentioned, “You were on ‘Running Man’ for quite some time,” Jeon explained, “I appeared as a guest twice before receiving an offer to become a regular member. I was with the show for about seven years.” She smiled as she added, “Because of the show’s format, I had to stick to a specific on-screen character. It was a happy workplace for me.”

However, the actress confessed that her time in the spotlight came with unexpected pain.

“With all the love I received came an equal amount of hate comments,” Jeon admitted.”Of course, other people get hate comments too, but if there had been some valid reason for them, I might’ve given it some serious thoughts. But honestly, there wasn’t any real reason for the hate.”

She continued with a vulnerable admission: “As these experiences accumulated, I felt I needed somewhere to rest my heart. That’s partly why I wanted to get married sooner. I wanted someone I could lean on firmly.”

Jeon So Min departed Running Man as a regular cast member last November after approximately six and a half years, citing her desire to focus on her primary career as an actress. This past January, she made a guest appearance on the show, delighting fans with her return.
