Seo Ye Ji posted a cryptic message on her social media on April 14th. She wrote, “Just because I pretend everything is fine doesn’t mean you can treat me any way you like.” The post appeared to subtly reflect her emotional state.

Just two days earlier, on the April 12 episode of SNL Korea Season 7 on Coupang Play, Seo Ye Ji made a bold return to the spotlight and directly addressed the controversies surrounding her.

In the opening monologue, she joked, “I’ll gaslight the entire SNL crew to make this fun,” playfully referencing her past scandals. Host Shin Dong Yup chimed in, “That’s right! Gaslighting is your specialty—I almost forgot,” while the crew raised their hands playfully, sending the audience into laughter.

In a segment titled “Seo Ye-GPT,” Seo Ye Ji portrayed an AI version of herself. In the skit, Kim Won Hoon successfully delivered a work presentation with help from the AI, only to be mocked by coworkers who claimed he relied on AI summary for the presentation. Seo responded, “What’s really embarrassing is sitting there silently while people talk behind your back. You have no idea how frustrating that is—I’ve been through it a lot,” indirectly revealing her own experiences.

Later, in the “Eve’s Hair Salon” segment, she played a salon owner giving scalp massages. When Kim Won Hoon commented, “The back of my neck feels stiff,” Seo paused briefly before replying with a straight face, “It’s just firm,” making everyone laugh. The line cleverly parodied the “Kim Ddak Ddak” (Kim Stiff) controversy she was once involved in.

Thanks to her appearance, SNL Korea Season 7 soared in popularity. According to Good Data Corporation’s FUNdex report released on April 15th, the show ranked No. 1 in TV-OTT non-drama buzz for the second week of April—just two weeks after its premiere.
