Brown Eyed Girls’ Gain shared an update following her past propofol incident.
A new video was uploaded to Lim Seulong’s personal YouTube channel on April 11th. The guest featured in the video was Gain, who had been fined in 2020 after being caught in 2019 for the illegal use of propofol.
“I went through a bit of a scandal,” Gain shared. “I wasn’t in a good place mentally or physically. I was dealing with depression, insomnia and panic disorder, so I spent most of my time at home. Just as I was slipping into a slump, my mom dragged me out to help at the shop she runs. At first, I said I couldn’t do it—there were too many negative articles about me—but after working for a day or two, I was so physically exhausted that I started sleeping better. Eventually, my mom stopped coming in and left everything to me, so I had a lot to take care of.”
She continued, “I worked from about 3 to 4 PM until 11 to midnight. I didn’t even have time to feel lonely because I had to be back the next day. My mom’s tough love worked well for me. Honestly, if it weren’t for her, I don’t know where I’d be now. She must’ve had a hard time behind the scenes too… but I think that time is what saved me,” she said tearfully.
Gain added, “If it weren’t for my mom, those three years would’ve felt unbearably long. I really want to be good to her now. I think all this happened because no one was looking after me, the person behind the celebrity image. From now on, I’ll take better care of myself.”
