It has been reported that Yoo Ah In increased the frequency of his propofol injections despite objections from medical staff. In response, the actor’s side explained that he requested anesthesia due to a fear of needles.

On March 2nd, MBC reported that one of the dermatology clinics the star visited in 2021 confirmed he received treatment there but did not provide further details. They explained, “We only prescribe propofol for anesthesia when patients experience pain. It’s not a problem.”

In 2021 alone, Yoo Ah In was prescribed a total of 4497ml of propofol from 73 hospitals in Seoul. Police suspect that  he may have exaggerated his pain during simple procedures in order to request anesthesia and receive propofol.

Reports indicate that medical staff at several hospitals tried to warn Yoo Ah In about his excessive propofol use. One hospital director even sent him text messages advising, “You shouldn’t receive too much anesthesia” and “You shouldn’t switch hospitals.”

In response to the matter, a representative from Yoo Ah In’s side explained, “He has a phobia of needles for dermatological treatments and requested anesthesia as a result.”

On the 2nd, Netflix announced that Yoo Ah In will not be returning for season 2 of the original series Hellbound and that Kim Sung Cheol, Yang Dong Geun and Moon Geun Young will be joining the cast instead.
