Lee Min Ho has once again proven his global appeal, topping the “2025 Global Hallyu Survey” as the most preferred Korean actor worldwide.

The survey, conducted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korean Foundation for International Cultural Exchange, covered 28 countries across five continents—Asia, the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa—and named him No. 1 in every region.

This achievement is especially impressive given that the Hallyu Star category was only introduced in 2014. Since then, Lee has dominated the actor category for 12 straight years, consistently outshining other big names. In 2024, he widened the gap even further between himself and the second-place contender compared to the previous year.

His popularity remains unshakable in Hallyu strongholds like the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Meanwhile, he’s making waves in emerging markets such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, where Korean culture—from dramas and movies to beauty and fashion—is taking off.

Just last month, he launched his 2025 LEE MINHO ASIA FANMEETING TOUR ‘MINHOVERSE’ IN SEOUL at Olympic Hall, his first fan meeting tour in eight years since 2017. He’s now connecting with fans across seven Asian cities, including Bangkok, Macau, Taipei, Jakarta, Manila, and Tokyo.

Up next, Lee is gearing up to star in Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, a film adaptation of the hit web novel. The story follows Kim Dokja, the only one who knows how a sprawling, post-apocalyptic novel ends. Lee will take on the role of Yoo Joong Hyuk, the novel’s hero, who can cheat death time and again as he fights to save the world.
