BOYNEXTDOOR has come under fire after the last-minute cancellation of their Bangkok concert, originally scheduled for March 29th as part of their KNOCK ON Vol.1 world tour. The announcement came in the wake of a 7.7 magnitude earthquake that hit Myanmar on March 28th, with tremors felt in parts of Thailand.

KOZ Entertainment released a statement citing safety as their top concern: “We extend our deepest condolences to everyone affected by the earthquake. Due to the current situation, the Bangkok concert has been canceled to prioritize the safety of the audience, artists, and staff.”

While the agency emphasized caution, the late notice—some reports say the cancellation wasn’t officially confirmed until hours after flights were grounded—has drawn major criticism online. Social media erupted with frustration from fans who had already traveled or were en route, accusing the organizers of prioritizing the group’s safe exit without giving fans proper warning.

“The issue is that the organizers got BND out ASAP without giving the fans the same safety notice and now many are stranded, missing, or dead,” one fan wrote on X. Others claimed the initial cancellation post went up around 3:30 PM local time but was quickly deleted, causing further confusion.

Still, some defended the decision, urging empathy given the natural disaster. “Acting like they had control over this is wild. People’s lives were in danger. Concerts can be rescheduled—lives can’t,” one user wrote.

KOZ confirmed that both the group and their staff are safe and in the process of returning home. The agency promised more details soon regarding refunds and next steps.

BOYNEXTDOOR is currently on their first world tour, with stops in cities like Taipei, Osaka, and Singapore.
