The late Kim Sae Ron‘s husband has broken his silence regarding the speculation and rumors surrounding himself and the deceased actress.
YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute, also known as HoverLab Inc., released a video titled “Shocking Exclusive: Kim Sae Ron’s Husband’s Statement Revealed” on March 25th.
A man identified as Kim Sae Ron’s husband stated, “A lot of misinformation has been spreading, and I believe the defamation against both the late Kim Sae Ron and myself has become severe. I’m releasing this statement to set the record straight.”
He continued, “I met Kim Sae Ron through an acquaintance in November 2024. We had a legal wedding on January 12, 2025, in the United States, where I live, with only a few close attendees present.”
However, the man explained, “We made the decision to annul the marriage by mutual agreement due to the hasty nature of our decision, the difficulties of a long-distance relationship and personality differences.”
Regarding allegations of physical abuse, he stated, “The apartment complex where I live in the U.S. is a quiet multi-unit building with poor soundproofing, meaning any incident of domestic violence would immediately be reported. Furthermore, domestic violence in the U.S. carries severe legal consequences. I have been raised with a strict moral education since childhood,” denying the accusations.
He further clarified, “From our first meeting in November 2024 until February 2025, we met four times. Except for our initial meeting, the remaining three times, Kim Sae Ron voluntarily traveled to the U.S. because I had work commitments. If there had been any abuse or confinement, why would she have come to the U.S. voluntarily?”
Addressing accusations of monitoring her, he explained that they had mutually agreed to remove access restrictions on their phones and social media accounts due to the long-distance nature of their relationship. He said, “Kim Sae Ron even used my phone to make calls multiple times, and we openly shared our passwords to build trust as a couple.” He added, “This kind of sharing was a mutual choice as a couple, and I can provide a written agreement between us as evidence.” YouTube channel’s host stated that they had obtained the document from him and planned to release it later.
The alleged husband also strongly denied claims of pregnancy. He explained, “Discussions about pregnancy only emerged in January 2025, while we first met in mid-November 2024. Our serious relationship only began when she visited the U.S. at the end of November, so the timeline doesn’t add up.” He further stated, “Since we were not planning for a child, Kim Sae Ron was taking birth control pills. Claims that I pressured her into marriage through pregnancy threats are deeply disrespectful to her.”
Additionally, he disclosed, “The last handwritten card Kim Sae Ron gave me provides insight into our relationship. We had decided to quietly proceed with the annulment without making our short-lived overseas marriage public. However, details of our relationship, including our marriage, were leaked through phone calls and recordings without our consent.” He stated that he was considering legal action regarding the alleged illegal or manipulated recordings.
He also claimed that he had received messages from an individual who identified himself as Kim Sae Ron’s cousin but was actually a friend. This person allegedly made provocative and threatening remarks, accusing him of abuse. However, the individual reportedly backed down after he warned of legal actions.
The alleged husband pleaded, “Stop spreading false information regarding the deceased’s private life.”
Previously, the YouTube channel Entertainment President Lee Jin Ho caused a stir by releasing audio recordings of Kim Sae Ron, in which she allegedly claimed she was forced into marriage in New York due to pregnancy and later underwent an abortion.
