tvN’s upcoming series The Divorce Insurance promises romance, laughs, healing. At the March 24th online press conference, cast members Lee Dong Wook, Lee Joo Been, Lee Kwang Soo and Lee Da Hee joined director Lee Won Seok to preview the show.

The series follows an elite insurance team who launch a bold new product: divorce insurance. With its vibrant setting and grounded characters, the show leans into whimsical visuals and emotional honesty.

“I wanted to create a world that’s slightly exaggerated from reality,” said director Lee. “Divorce isn’t just an end—it’s a new beginning. This is about people building their own world from the inside out.”

Lee Dong Wook stars as Noh Ki Joon, an actuary who’s lost everything—emotionally and financially—after three divorces. “My recent roles were intense or fantastical, so I wanted something easier to digest, he said. Ki Joon has this lovable charm. Plus, it was nice to work on something where my body didn’t suffer. And I really enjoyed the back-and-forth rhythm with the cast,” he joked.

Director Lee shared, “I saw this one photo of Dong Wook looking dazed in a cap—he doesn’t like it, but I thought, ‘That’s a man who’s been through three divorces.'”

Lee Joo Been plays Kang Han Deul, a sharp and confident woman whose calm smile hides a streak of chaos within her. “The script felt fresh, and I felt connected to its content,” she shared. “Han Deul may seem delicate, but she’s sharp and analytical. Career-wise, she’s very put-together.”

Lee Kwang Soo plays An Jeon Man, a man who prepped for everything—except his own divorce. “The set atmosphere was great. There was a lot of improvising, and everyone was really open,” he said. Director Lee revealed, “The writer imagined his character as ‘yellow,’ and that instantly made me think of Kwang Soo,” which sent the actor into laughter: “That’s the first time I’ve heard I was cast for being yellow.”

Lee Da Hee rounds out the leads as Jeon Na Rae, a fierce divorce-denier. “Na Rae makes bold choices, and I felt like the role really aligned with my strengths,” she said. Talking about all the bonds she had with the cast, especially with Kwang Soo who she reunited with after seven years, she stressed that they “helped bring out the natural chemistry in the scenes.”

The Divorce Insurance premieres March 31st at 8:50 PM KST on tvN.
